Friday tips round-up: Ladbrokes, DS Smith, Pursuit Dynamics

In The Telegraph, Questor weighs up the odds on Ladbrokes, which issued a profit warning for its digital business yesterday, resulting in a 12 per cent drop in the share price. The problem is, it is taken an inordinately long time to get the new website up and running, while some big sporting events have also gone against bookmakers, leaving them with annoyingly large payouts. Despite the high street operation doing well, Questor believes your money should be on William Hill, Ladbrokes is a leave. Tempus in The Times Likes packaging firm DS Smith. Having bought Swedish outfit SCA Packaging or €1.6bn it is now the second largest player in Europe. It is also exiting the more cyclical paper-making business. The shares trade at around nine times earnings, given the SCA deal they look cheap says Tempus: buy. Tempus also relates the "sad" tale of Pursuit Dynamics which has fallen 96% in the last 12 months. It makes products which make industrial processes more efficient. Unfortunately, it is struggling to sell the products, or get the licensing deal that many believed would make it millions of pounds.
